Ex-pat For a Week

At long last, the trip I've been waiting for is HERE! I leave this afternoon for my first ever trip to Scandinavia (Copenhagen and the Norway, to be exact) to visit my favorite ex-pat.

I wrestled with whether not to post our amazing itinerary - didn't want anyone to drool more over this than pictures of food - but I thought it might be fun to follow along as we venture through the beautiful city of Copenhagen and the fjords of Norway. *I've read some interesting things about the food over there, too - not sure how I feel about smoked fish but I'm trying to keep an open mind.

9/1-3 explore Copenhagen... Christy's friend's going-away party and hopefully a canal tour, Nyhavn, Stroget, etc.

9/3 leave for Oslo

9/4 begin our own personal "Norway in a Nutshell" tour: Oslo to Myrdal to Flåm on the Flåmsbana; Fjordsafari & Cheesetasting in Flåm

9/5 second leg of our Norway tour: Flåm to Gudvangen (by boat) to Voss and finally to Bergen

9/6 spend the day in Bergen

9/7-9 back in Copenhagen for more Danish sites

9/9 return to the US of A

Quite a whirlwind tour... but we wouldn't have it any other way!!

Watch out Scandinavia... here we come!

  1. Yay! How fun! I'm jealous that you're leaving (or really, have left) but I hope you have a great time!

We're doing Normandy/Paris/London in Feb./Mar. of next year and I CAN'T WAIT. I had to get my name changed on my passport - and my check cleared (expedited it) yesterday.

Take LOTS of pics and def. try all the food. That's part of the fun of traveling! Can't wait for the stories.

  2. CONGRATULATIONS! You didn't blog about it, or did I miss that important bit? I'm so excited for you!

As for changing your name ... it took me almost a year ... but that's because I was stubborn, and I also thought it was a PAIN.

And I've gone through the lost luggage thing - twice (once on my HONEYMOON). I'll pray for you - it is so freaking frustrating.

  3. Oh, man. I'm so sorry! That really stinks - at least you're visiting a friend and can borrow things, right?

  4. Omelets, salads (with protein, of course!), soups - they come together quick, hearty sandwiches on whole-wheat bread (to pair with those soups and salads), stir-fries, use your grill, too, but you know all this!

Hope you had a blast! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Thanks for stopping by! I love hearing from you!

I do my best to post responses back on your own blog but if your question is applicable to everyone, I'll leave you a response here.
